Welcome to our website, and the gateway to our school. As Principal of Hills Grammar School, I know it is a school unlike any other. Part of the prestigious Hills Grammar school, our academic strives to be amongst the best in the country. But, as a local school in Accra, we have our own distinctive character and ethos. Visitors always comment on our polite and cheerful students, our beautiful listed school building, and the enthusiasm and energy of our staff.
Our template for success is traditional. The curriculum is taught as discrete disciplines, pupils are expected to be respectful and enthusiastic and an environment staff feel comfortable and enjoy working. As a result of this, pupils learn to work diligently and independently in everything they do – we put on fantastic plays and musical productions, regular concerts and recitals.
We also focus on ‘the invisible curriculum’. Manners, conversation, personal presentation and honesty are all highly valued at our school, and we ask parents and careers to work with us in partnership to guide pupils through these vital years.
